Baton Rouge Area Foundation Announces New Cohort of Development Fellows

01.08.2024

25 leaders selected to receive training in the field of development

Baton Rouge, Louisiana – The Baton Rouge Area Foundation today announced the 2024 cohort of Development Fellows, a program of the Foundation’s Center for Nonprofit Excellence. One of the Foundation’s signature programs, Development Fellows is a workshop series that teaches fundraising fundamentals to enhance the skills and effectiveness of new development professionals.

A cohort of 25 fellows have been carefully selected to participate in this program. Established in 2010, the Development Fellows Program is a series of workshops aimed at boosting proficiency in the field of development. Each workshop features a formal presentation by a local funder or development professional, followed by in-depth group discussions. The program provides the fellows with access to high-caliber experts, fostering opportunities to build contacts within the local community.

While the program is not designed for seasoned development professionals, it offers significant benefits to staff at area non-profits seeking to expand their knowledge. Selection criteria prioritize current and future potential as a development professional, transferrable skills, and a demonstrated interest in contributing to the not-for-profit sector in Baton Rouge.
