Students will learn the latest about internal combustion engines and more at the Baton Rouge Community College’s automotive training center. Aligning with other educational institutions, the facility will anchor Ardendale—a 200-acre development to include housing and shops in a part of town that badly needs economic development. The Foundation is assisting EBR Redevelopment Authority, the lead developer, in building Ardendale.
The automotive training center will open in fall 2016 and eventually train hundreds of students annually. Next door, East Baton Rouge Public Schools will build a career high school.
More training facilities are expected in Ardendale, which should spark growth in the surrounding area.
