Apply For a Competitive Grant

In order to apply for a competitive grant, you must first apply as a Grants Administrator. APPLICATIONS TO BE APPROVED AS A GRANTS ADMINISTRATOR MUST BE RECEIVED 7 DAYS BEFORE APPLICATION DEADLINE.

Competitive Grants

The Credit Bureau of Baton Rouge Foundation promotes a better understanding of the consumer credit risk system and personal money management so everyone can achieve greater success in life. Application by Invitation Only.

Grant Range: $2,500 to $50,000

A Field of Interest Fund, the Farrnbacher Memorial Fund seeks to improve the lives of people in East Baton Rouge Parish who are in need of eyecare but can’t afford it.

Grant Range: $5,000 to $15,000

The E. J. and Marjory B. Ourso Family Foundation supports South Louisiana, which has been good to the family over generations. The foundation provides grants to nonprofits that have new, creative or beneficial projects responding to the following program areas: education, health care, human services and religion.

Notification Dates: May 15, Aug. 15, Nov. 15, Feb. 15

Turner Industries Fund has granted to a wide variety of causes with emphasis on workforce development and community improvement as it relates to health and education. The fund supports nonprofit organizations in the greater communities of Baton Rouge, Lake Charles, New Iberia, Shreveport and New Orleans, all in Louisiana; Port Arthur, Houston, Corpus Christi, Paris, El Paso, Victoria and Gregory, all in Texas; and Decatur, Alabama

Grant range: $500 to $5,000

The Cox Charities “give where you live” program empowers Cox employees to support local schools and nonprofits in their communities. Every dollar donated to the program remains local and impacts individuals in Cox residential service areas.

This competitive program is sponsored by the Baton Rouge Area Foundation, but applications are accepted through the Cox Charities application portal.

Grant Range:

  • Community Investment grants of up to $5,000 per program support nonprofit programs and services in youth, education, social issues and the arts.
  • Education grants of up to $2,500 are open to pre-K -12 public and private schools within Cox Communications residential service areas.

Grants for Educators Deadlines: Sept. 1 – Oct. 1
Grants for Nonprofits Deadlines: April 1 – May 1
