AARON BERNARD MURRAY AND FAY TYLER MURRAY EDUCATION ENCOURAGEMENT FUND
The Aaron Bernard Murray and Fay Tyler Murray Education Encouragement Fund was established in 1998 by the Murray Family through the Baton Rouge Area Foundation.
Each year, the scholarship will recognize a high school senior graduating from Baton Rouge High School who has a record of sound achievement in his or her studies and demonstrating good citizenship. Baton Rouge High School students nominated or recommended by a teacher and/or school administrator are eligible to apply. These nominations and recommendations should be considered endorsements of the student and his or her participation and engagement in activities that have expanded the quality of life for others.
The selected recipient will receive a onetime, $750 award and will be honored at Baton Rouge High School’s annual Honors Day Program.
In addition to submitting the Common Application, applicants must submit the following:
- Academic resume
- Personal statement or essay
- Letter of recommendation from a Baton Rouge High School’s principal, guidance counselor and/or teacher.
Applications must be submitted by March 30.
All applicants will be notified of the Committee’s decisions within two months of the due date.
