KAREN E. MAILLET-DOMINGUE AND SOLVAY/ECO SERVICES SCHOLARSHIP FUND

HISTORY
The scholarship was established Solvay/Eco Services formally Rhodia, and the Domingue family to honor Karen E. Domingue-Maillet’s life and work. The Scholarship Advisory Committee includes members of the Solvay/Eco Services Community Advisory Panel (CAP), a group of local community members in the Scotlandville area who meet monthly with Solvay/Eco Services staff to discuss issues of mutual concern and give advice and feedback.

ELIGIBILITY
The applicant must be a May graduate of Baker, Glen Oaks, Istrouma, or Scotlandville High School. The applicant must be in the upper 50% of their senior class, be of good character, be a U.S. Citizen, and also a resident of East Baton Rouge Parish with a demonstrated need for financial assistance. Please note, no exceptions will be made. Students must meet all criteria.

AWARD
The Scholarship Committee will determine the number of scholarships awarded each year. Scholarship awards are $1,000 per semester (fall and spring only). After the first semester, an additional $250 per semester will be awarded to students who maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher, and an additional $250 upon completion of the final semester, making the scholarship a maximum of $10,000.

RENEWAL
To maintain the scholarship, the recipient must maintain a minimum 2.0 overall GPA each semester. At the end of each semester, the recipient will provide the Foundation with an official transcript and proof of full-time enrollment for the next semester. The subsequent checks will be issued only upon receipt of these documents.
