The Baton Rouge Area Alcohol and Drug Center, Inc. (BRAADC) is a non-profit organization that has been in operation for 35 years. BRAADC provides 24-hour in-patient non-medical detoxification care for individuals who are without severe medical problems and seeking detoxification from a substance addiction. Their clientele are generally composed of those below the poverty level (80%) and 30% are homeless. Due to a loss of funding in 40% of their detoxification beds (10) and a constant waiting list of approximately 75 people they are in need of funding for operational support to continue services at full capacity for the community's benefit. In addition due to budget cuts the Board is engaging in a revisioning of their strategic plan and is seeking support contract the Louisiana Association of Nonprofit Organizations to facilitate the plan at a cost of $3,335.
