Heritage Ranch

Last Updated Jul 2010

Heritage Ranch provides life skills, mentoring, and service learning programs in the local public school system and in the community through summer camp programs. In March 2010, Heritage Ranch signed a contract on a 52-acre site, which will include an administrative building, housing for youth, counseling and education building; horse barn and arena; swimming pool; lakes; and extensive grounds. The Ranch will serve boys ages 13-17 from families in the Greater Baton Rouge area. They will provide housing, educational support and counseling to children, as well as casework to their families, thereby empowering children to regain personal stability, families to achieve more healthy patterns of interaction, and work toward family reunification. In order to secure this property, Heritage Ranch has launched a Capital Campaign to raise $1.8 million in pledges by September 2010. In addition to capital fund development needs, they also seek routine operating revenues to continue existing programs. Once the property is secured Heritage Ranch will be positioned to apply for state licensing and project opening in June 2011.
