The Baton Rouge Area Foundation was created in 1964 by 12 community leaders. President and CEO John Davies is responsible for the daily operations of the Foundation. The Foundation had $530 million in assets at year-end 2008, and has provided more than $215 million in grants over 45 years, thanks to generous fund donors. The Foundation links donors with capable nonprofits and advances projects that improve the community.
