Finding an appropriate way to say thank you can be difficult, especially when you want to express your gratitude for a special achievement, or appreciation for a life well-lived.

The Foundation's two types of commendations, Memorials and Honoraria, make recognizing a loved one easy. And, since funds generated from Memorials and Honoraria go into the general operating fund and contribute to the daily workings of the Foundation, they're a great way to honor dedication to our community.


The Baton Rouge Area Foundation is currently making improvements to the credit card processing in our web site, which while under construction leaves us unable to request some of the additional information necessary to complete your honorarium or memorial donation. As a result, you may receive an email from a member of our Donor Services team requesting the name of the person to be honored or memorialized, as well as the name and address of those to be notified of the gift. If you prefer, you may email this information directly to Helen Lowery at hlowery@braf.org when your transaction is complete. These limitations are temporary and we apologize for any inconvenience.
